Publication of work is at the discretion of the editors.

The first step is to register as an author. If you have already registered you can log in and begin the simple five step process. (Follow these useful instructions). Please read through all the guidelines below before you submit, and make sure you have all elements ready to submit (incluidng a short paragraph about you and your university journey).

Learn more about submitting to Snapshot through the OJS system.

If you have any questions about submitting to Snapshot, please email the editors snapshot@latrobe.edu.au.

What to submit

  • The assignment your lecturer recommended you submit.
  • A short paragraph (up to 60 words) to tell us a little bit about you. We'd like to know what motivated you to study at uni, what you enjoy about uni, or perhaps what you want to study next. This may be submitted as a supplementary (additional) file, or it can be included at the end of your essay/short story/poem, critical piece.
Images
Any images, illustration, photographs, figures, or tables embedded in the document should also be submitted separately as jpeg files. Images, illustrations, photographs, figures or tables must be your own - not somebody else's.

If you wish to use somebody else's photo/illustration/figure/table you MUST get copyright clearance; either a Creative Commons licence or written permission from the creator/copyright holder. Submit the permission statement as a supplementary file.

Contribution length

Length of contributions is determined by the lecturer when setting the assessment task that is designed to develop contributions for the journal.

Referencing

Use the Harvard referencing style (author date, page), as is standard for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; unless a different referencing style is required for a particular discipline. If you are submitting artwork or multimedia, or proposing any other unusual or complex submissions, please contact the editors.

Snapshot journal prefers in-text citations and a bibliography (if appropriate) at the end of the piece, rather than using footnotes.
