<i>Illuminating Texts</i>: Pain and Hope: The Voices of Children from the Middle East
Abstract
My purpose in this paper is to discuss the tradition of poetry in the Arabic culture, to look at the influences on the Palestinian American writer Naomi Shihab Nye, and then to examine her own poetry and some of the poetry she has collected from young poets of the Middle East.
